When the day is terrible, long for night. When the night drags on, long for dreams. When the dreams cut deeply, long for the sun. When the sun does burn, long again for the moon. When the moon won’t shine, long for shelter. When shelter doesn’t protect, long for strength. When strength fails, long for love. When love cracks, long for death.

Leave me alone, world.

Leave me alone, world.

Why do I come as you call? Sleepless, hungry, cold, and dirty do I fall at your feet.

“Ready to serve.”

And I do, as best I can. All that I am becomes all that I can be for you. I would that it were more.

I cannot give you the world, but I can hold it still for you.

Hades in the dark

Always watching but she’s drowning in blood he never spilled. Blames his father, but who doesn’t? Isn’t wrong but he’s been fathered by a boy. Waiting for the light, just a moth stuck in a cave watching rapemurdermiserymurderrape and that’s why he dissapears: to return to the light. Looking for a torch to brighten his cave, to silence the shades of memories (not his, that he never asked to carry). Holding hands with the dead is easier than loving his mother was because family doesn’t really mean love in the end, just messy. He falls in love with her on a Tuesday, and then he hides his face for seven years where the light can’t burn anymore.

There are billions of stars just waiting to burn down your dreams, each with hopes of seeing something new and beautiful out of the destruction. That can’t be found here- nor anywhere; but always looking and burning like Greek fire at dusk, never letting Helen escape to her dreamland (where she is alone and not chased as she is).

There are tears but there are no reasons, fears but no seasons, spears but no treasons? I don’t know what I’m thinking anymore it’s all a blur of whiteandred mostly bloody but sometimes like heaven.

The best time to brood is at one o’clock.
